About
Growing up, Motunrayo Akinsete was surrounded by people who were sharp, hardworking, and full of potential. What they often lacked was access. To the right tools, the right rooms, the right information at the right time. She never stopped thinking about that.
It is why she pursued AI research — not as an abstract academic exercise, but because she wanted to understand the technology well enough to make it useful for the people who needed it most. She completed her MSc as a Google DeepMind Scholar at the University of Birmingham, where her research focused on responsible AI and fairness in large language models.
But sitting with research was never going to be enough for her. She wanted to be in the room. So she started consulting with businesses figuring out how to use AI without the overwhelm. She began training teams and professionals who needed someone who could explain the hard things simply without dumbing them down. She started speaking at events where the conversation about AI and Africa needed someone who actually lived both.
She founded AI Accelerator Academy because she saw too many talented people circling the same confusion with no clear way in.
What drives her has not changed since the beginning. She wants people to be better off because they crossed paths with her work.
Mission & Vision
"To make AI and technology a tool of genuine, lasting empowerment for people who have historically been left out of the conversation."
"A world where one person with the right knowledge can change the trajectory of their household, their community, and the generation that comes after them."
Values
Real change over optics
Mo only works with people and organisations that genuinely want transformation. Not face-value engagements. Not performative AI adoption.
Alignment before engagement
Every collaborator, client, and partner is chosen deliberately. Mission alignment matters more than the size of the opportunity.
Accessibility with integrity
Making AI accessible to individuals is core to the mission. Premium pricing for organisational work is what makes that sustainable.
Sustainable impact
The metric is never the immediate result. It is what that result makes possible five years from now.
